Bananas are Berries...what?!
The entire berry categorization is chaotic.
Technically, grapes, avocado, eggplant, and tomatoes are berries...but strawberries, cherries, and blackberries don't actually make the cut!

Botanically speaking, a berry has three distinct layers:
- the exocarp (outer skin)
- mesocarp (fleshy middle)
- endocarp (innermost part, which holds the seeds).
They also must come from a flower with only one ovary...so strawberries and raspberries - which have flowers with more than one ovary - do not qualify. However, blueberries & bananas do qualify.
Bananas are loaded with potassium…which is an epically important electrolyte we need for EVERYTHING - from normal day-to-day functions like breathing to intense work outs like burpees.
